'Signal: BON VOYAGE'—

An art expression celebrating Chicago's love of boating.

Created by Edmond Gueringer, Summer 1994

The purpose of this message is to memorialize the 20th Anniversary of one of the most widely seen but little known examples of uniquely successful “community art” in the city of Chicago. Painting renderings of the International Alphabet Code Flags signaling the message 'Bon Voyage' was created to promote the Chicago Park Distric Rainbow Fleet for children and adults.

EdmondGueringer was the first black sailing instructor for the Chicagp Park District
